Harness Family (or Group) Disputes for Progress

Instructions

  1. Acknowledge ongoing frictions. Openly recognize recurring disputes—over chores, attention, or decisions—without blaming anyone.

  2. Shift focus from outcome to process. Instead of seeking a ‘winner’, ask ‘How do we resolve decisions?’ Propose using a shared rule or rotating responsibility.

  3. Create a system for honest negotiation. Invite all members to voice what they value most and suggest fair, flexible swaps; practice compromise repeatedly.
